So I'm in Blacksburg, VA which is Va. Tech country.  The drive to Pearisburg and also from the airport is really pretty.  The plan is in Pearisburg, but there are no hotels there.  Jefferson wilderness I think?  Did Jefferson wander there? Teachers haven't bought into Wilson so they tried to spend our afternoon meeting time complaining about whatever.  Had to cut it off and try to talk about something important.  Sheesh.

Decided to stay at the Inn at Virginia Tech.  Very nice breakfast (European with cheese and smoked salmon). Nice and quiet and cheap.  Decided to eat at hotel tonight.  Sat me by some brainy men who entertained me with their intellectual chatter as I sat and looked at my notes to send to teachers.  The salmon and service was very nice and I enjoyed the bread.  Boo yaaaa.. Is food all I can talk about?  I'm hoping to get my buds to join this blog if I can figure out how to get them here.  It is probably really simple.

Cleveland, OH in March 2014

So I think the Residence Inn (Marriott) is a better choice than the Hilton Garden Inn.  It's location is right in the center of town and you can walk to most restaurants if warm.  Tonight it was 23 degrees.  I went to the Blue Point Grill on St. Clair.  Very yummy and excellent service.  There are quite a few cute restaurants in the area.  It looks like this part of town is being rejuvenated.  I had fried oysters, scallops and Szechuan green beans.  So yummy.  Oh and Frog Leg Merlot.  Perfect all. No dessert, but came back to room and grabbed a cookie to heat up in the micro wave and some decaf coffee.  Need to get in the pool and exercise on the treadmill in the a.m. Shari Barr will be here tomorrow so there is more fun in store.

Orange, VA

Holiday Inn with view.  Good catering place to eat for lunch.  No to Asian restaurant in town.  Yes, to Mill Restaurant (closed on Mon).

Fly into DC?  Richmond has fewer choices and about the same drive time. Trying it in May

Logan, Ohio

Holiday Inn.  Need I say more?  Scratch sheets, uncomfortable pillows, TV hmm.  Computer in lobby takes forever.  Nice pool and whirlpool.  Stay on top floor, noisy.  Breakfast at Bob Evans.

Bar b que and Mexican restaurants right by hotel.

Hours drive from Columbus
